Eligibility Criteria

  • Students:
    • Available to students pursuing any degree program (bachelor, master, doctorate).
    • Must be enrolled in an Erasmus+ participating higher education institution.
    • An Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) must be held by the institution.
  • Recent graduates:
    • You have to apply and finish the traineeship within a year after graduating.
    • Prior to the student’s graduation, applications must be submitted.
  • The traineeship must be relevant to the learning and personal development requirements associated with the degree and, if feasible, be integrated into the course of study.
  • You can complete a traineeship at any organization, no matter where in the globe (EU institutions, bodies, and agencies excepted).
  • For a maximum of 12 months per study cycle, each student may engage in mobility activities (study and/or traineeship). An individual may be eligible for up to twelve months of Erasmus+ mobility, for instance, while pursuing a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a doctorate

Each university/institute/organization has its own deadlines for Erasmus+ Traineeships. For information on specific application deadlines, which are usually established several months before the desired start date of the traineeship, students should consult with the Erasmus+ office at their home university.

Application Procedure

The application process for the Erasmus+ Traineeships comprises the following steps:

  • Preparation:
    • Look for and land a traineeship at a reputable foreign organization.
    • Together with the host organization, go over and outline the traineeship tasks and learning objectives.
  • Trainee Agreement for Learning:
    • Fill out a Learning Agreement detailing the tasks to be accomplished, knowledge to be gained, and obligations throughout the traineeship.
    • The student, the host group, and the home university must all sign this agreement.
  • Submission and Acceptance:
    • Deliver the Learning Agreement to the home institution’s Erasmus+ office together with any other necessary paperwork.
    • If the traineeship satisfies the required requirements, the home institution evaluates the application and grants permission.
  • Grant Contract:
    • After being accepted, the student and the home institution sign a grant agreement that details the traineeship’s terms and financial assistance.
