Details of the IDIL Scholarship

​The Initiative for the Development of International Learning (IDIL) Scholarship is the flagship scholarship program of the University of Montpellier, France, aimed at bringing in international students of excellence to pursue master’s degrees in all fields. The scholarship is not just a source of funding but also a tool for cultural integration, making it extremely attractive to students from all over the world.

The IDIL Scholarship is awarded to international students who have not been enrolled in a French higher education institution in the past two years. The scholarship provides financial support in the form of reimbursement of travel costs amounting to €600 and a monthly stipend of €600 for four months for the first semester of the first (M1) and second (M2) years of the master’s program. The scholarship also provides a subsidy for a six-month internship with approximately €600 per month to acquire professional experience in the student’s area of study.

Additional Requirements

The following criteria must be fulfilled in order to be eligible for an IDIL scholarship:

  • Be approved for an IDIL program and have applied through Mon Master (if you live in Europe or a country not covered by Études en France) or Études en France (if you live in a country that requires this process).
  • Have never studied or been enrolled in a higher education institution in France.
  • As soon as you get to France, turn in all the necessary paperwork, such as your passport or ID, French bank account information (RIB), email address, and phone number. Proof of student liability insurance, a copy of a valid visa, and documentation attesting to social security coverage are required for non-EEA citizens. A copy of your enrollment certificate or student card from the University of Montpellier, both current and past

How to Apply?

  • No separate application is needed for the scholarship.
  • Simply apply for an IDIL Master’s Degree through one of these platforms:
    • Études en France (for students from countries requiring this process)
    • Mon Master (for students from Europe or other eligible countries)
  • If admitted, you automatically receive the scholarship if you meet the eligibility criteria.
