Lincoln University (New Zealand)

In 1990, Lincoln College in Canterbury, New Zealand, became independent of the University of Canterbury, giving birth to Lincoln University. The oldest agricultural training facility in the Southern Hemisphere, it was established in 1878. A number of Lincoln University scholarships are available in various categories. Some of these scholarships are given below:

1. English for Further Study Award

Any student who successfully completes English for Academic Purposes (EAP) for at least 12 weeks will be eligible for a fee reimbursement when they enroll in the next academic program. Depending on your level of English experience, you can enroll for up to 24 weeks or somewhere in between.

You will acquire the skills necessary for a career or further education through these programs. Utilize them to satisfy the English language entrance requirements for the university’s academic programs. No additional exams, such as the TOEFL or IELTS, will be required of you. You will be prepared for successful study at the undergraduate or graduate level by taking the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course. Additionally, it is accessible online, allowing you to use Zoom to finish the program elsewhere.

2. Lincoln University International Undergraduate Scholarship

The Lincoln University International Undergraduate Scholarship (IUGS) was created to aid internationally qualified students who have not yet attended Lincoln University. Upon confirmation of enrollment in one of Lincoln University’s undergraduate programs, beneficiaries will receive one of up to ten scholarships worth NZ$3,000 each, which will be credited to their Lincoln University Tuition Fees account.

3. Lincoln University International Pathway Merit Scholarship

For new students wishing to enroll in the Certificate in University Studies or Diploma in University Studies programs, scholarships worth NZ$2,500 are available. Students must achieve academic and English standards in order to be considered for a scholarship.

The scholarship is available upon confirmed enrolment in one of the following qualifications;

  • Certificate in University Studies, or
  • Diploma in University Studies (three-semester pathway), or
  • Diploma in University Studies (two-semester pathway).

4. Lincoln University International School Leavers Scholarship

The International School Leavers Scholarship (ISLS) at Lincoln University was created in 2020 to assist internationally qualified students who wish to enroll in the first year of a bachelor’s degree program there. Upon confirmation of enrollment in one of Lincoln University’s undergraduate bachelor programs, beneficiaries will receive up to 10 scholarships worth NZ$10,000 each, which will be credited to their Lincoln University Tuition Fees account.

5. Lincoln University Undergraduate Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship

The Undergraduate Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship at Lincoln University was established in 2018 to encourage and recognize the most academically qualified international students to pursue their studies at Lincoln University. For new students enrolled in bachelor’s degree programs, scholarships worth NZ$5,000 are available. Students must achieve academic and English standards in order to be considered for a scholarship.

6. 180-credit Taught Master’s Merit Scholarship

International students who meet the requirements will get a grant worth NZ$7,000 or NZ$10,000 to help cover the cost of their tuition for one of the 180-credit taught master’s programs.

NZ$10,000 for the following programs:

  • Master of Business (Finance)
  • Master of Fintech and Investment Management

  • Master of Wine and Viticulture
  • Master of Precision Agriculture

General Eligibility Criteria for Lincoln University Scholarships for International Students

A candidate must fulfill the following requirements in order to be eligible to apply for the Lincoln University Scholarships for International Students:

  • Be an international student new to the program at Lincoln University who is enrolled or intends to enroll in a bachelor’s degree program (Undergraduate Scholarships) or a master’s degree program (Postgraduate Scholarships)
  • Be ineligible for any other scholarship.
  • Comply with all immigration procedures in order to study in New Zealand.
  • Comply with all scholastic and English language standards.
