Delft University of Technology Scholarships for MSc Students
The Dutch university TU Delft, which provides bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degree programs, has a number of scholarships available for international students. These awards are intended to help brilliant and driven students from all over the world who want to attend TU Delft to further their studies. 1. Justus & Louise Van Effen Excellence Scholarships
For international students pursuing a master’s degree at TU Delft, there is a complete scholarship program available. It covers the cost of tuition as well as provides a monthly living expense allowance.
Eligibility
- You are a brilliant international applicant who has been accepted (on a provisional basis) into one of the 2-year conventional MSc programs at TU Delft (not a Joint Education Program).
- You have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) that is at least 80% of the maximum possible.
- You graduated from a top-tier university outside of The Netherlands with a bachelor’s degree.
- You submitted your entire MSc application before the deadline for the scholarship.
Deadline
Justus & Louise Van Effen Excellence Scholarships application deadline is December 1 (23:59 CET) each year.
Benefits of Justus & Louise Van Effen Excellence Scholarships:
Full annual tuition for an MSc program at TU Delft is based on the institutional rate or the statutory rate, depending on the registered nationality, AND a contribution toward living costs.

2. NL Scholarship
The Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science, as well as Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences, provide funding for the NL Scholarship. International students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to study in Holland are eligible for a portion of the scholarships. Along with the EU nations, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway make up the EEA.
Eligibility
Excellent candidates from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) having a bachelor’s degree from an internationally renowned university outside The Netherlands who have been (conditionally) admitted to one of the 2-year Regular MSc programs at TU Delft.
Deadline
The deadline to apply for the NL Scholarship is 1 February (23:59 CET).
Benefits of the NL Scholarship
According to the registered nationality, non-EEA students will receive € 5.000 in the first academic year as a contribution toward living expenses for a TU Delft MSc program based on the statutory charge or institutional rate. A candidate may receive up to three (€15.000) NL Scholarships, depending on merit.

3. QuTech Scholarship
The Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) have partnered to create QuTech. For students interested in conducting research or pursuing advanced degrees in the field of quantum computing and quantum technology, QuTech may provide scholarships or funding options. Deadline is 1 December (23:59 CET).
4. Faculty Scholarship
Faculty Scholarships are one of the several scholarships that Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) offers to assist international students in furthering their education at the institution. Faculty Scholarships may be exclusive to certain faculties or departments within the institution and are often given to exceptional students based on academic excellence. These scholarships can sometimes contribute to living expenses and help with tuition costs. Deadline is 1 December (23:59 CET).
5. Fullbright Scholarship
The Fulbright Program works with the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands to provide scholarships for Americans who want to attend TU Delft for their studies. The Fulbright Program is a renowned international educational exchange program supported by the U.S. government that offers numerous scholarship opportunities for Americans to study, teach, or do research overseas. The deadline is 12 October.
6. Ena Voûte Design Engineering Excellence Scholarship
The Netherlands’ Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) offers the famous Ena Voûte Design Engineering Excellence Scholarship. This fellowship is intended exclusively for international students who are considering enrolling in TU Delft’s Master of Design Engineering program. The scholarship normally pays for a sizable percentage of the TU Delft master’s degree in Design Engineering tuition. In general, the scholarship is given for the length of the master’s program, which at TU Delft is normally two years.

Scholarships are available to MSc students across all TU Delft faculties during the 2024–2026 academic year (only the Fall Semester).

- Submit your scholarship application online.
- Submit TWO reference letters, or request them:
- According to the rules, you can upload your reference letters as one PDF file during your MSc application.
- Upload your certificate of English proficiency.
- Please be aware that students from outside the EU/EFTA must submit their English test results with their application, if necessary.
Delft University of Technology Scholarships Deadlines
The deadlines for Delft University of Technology Scholarships vary for various scholarship programs. Some of the scholarship applications will close on 1 December 2023 and others close on 1 February 2024.
Application Procedure
Send in your entire MSc application along with the necessary scholarship materials, such as the scholarship application form and two reference letters, before the deadline for the scholarship. At that point, your MSc application will be assessed, and a decision on acceptance will be made. You will also be granted a scholarship consideration at that time. Candidates are not permitted to wait to submit a scholarship application until they have been admitted.
