Eligibility
Those who wish to apply for this scholarship must:
- be submitting an application to Swansea University’s PhD or Professional Doctorate program. To view the complete list of approved courses, click this link.
- possess, or anticipate obtaining, a first-class or 2:1 UK undergraduate degree (or a comparable international qualification) and/or a master’s degree with distinction from the UK (or a comparable international qualification).
- be considered an international student and qualified to pay Swansea University’s tuition at the international rate.
- Note that these are merely the minimal requirements for admission; in order to be considered for your desired course, you will need to provide evidence of excellence beyond your academic record.
- Currently, enrolled PhD and professional doctorate students are not eligible for the program.
- The program is not available for master’s level coursework.
- A candidate is not eligible to earn an SUIPRES scholarship if they are completely sponsored by a third party.
How to Apply
In order to be considered for an SUIPRES scholarship, you must:
- Apply to a PhD or Professional Doctorate program if you are qualified. To view the complete list of approved courses, click this link.
- Please include in your application that you want to be considered for a scholarship from SUIPRES.
- Please include a summary of your academic record and any other activities that may be relevant in your supporting statement to indicate excellence (prizes earned, outreach efforts, teaching experience, etc).
- You will receive a notification in your offer letter regarding the possibility of receiving an SUIPRES scholarship.

Master Mind Scholarships in Belgium for International Students
International Excellence Scholarships (Rest of the world)
The International Excellence Scholarships (Rest of the World) at Swansea University are competitive awards for outstanding international students (non-EU) applying for eligible full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught programs starting in 2025/26. To be considered, you must already hold an offer to study at Swansea and submit a separate scholarship application by 13th August 2025. The scholarship provides up to £7,000 for undergraduates (split across two years) and up to £5,000 for postgraduates (in the first year), awarded as a tuition fee reduction based on academic excellence. Swansea University is providing one £ 10,000 scholarship to Thai students pursuing a one-year postgraduate program in the UK through collaboration with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign. You must apply to pursue MEng, MSci, MSc, MPharm, MBBCh, MA, LLM, or MRes postgraduate courses at Swansea if you meet the requirements for eligibility.
Chevening Scholarships
