What is AAUW Scholarship in USA ?
The AAUW International Fellowships in USA is a fully funded scholarship for international applicants to enroll in accredited U.S. universities’ master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral degree programs. Women who are not U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents and who intend to return home after earning their degree are eligible for AAUW Scholarships. There are only a few number of prizes available for study abroad. The cost of the Scholarship program will be covered by the AAUW Fellowship.
Women are the future of a country. During the previous year, more than 320 Fellowships were awarded. A bachelor’s degree is required for applicants to the AAUW Fellowship, and they must have applied to an authorized US university at the time of their application. You must finish your undergraduate degree prior to the AAUW application deadline.

AAUW International Fellowships in USA for Women
Since 1917, there have been international fellowships. Women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who want to return to their native country to pursue a professional career are given support for their full-time graduate or postdoctoral study through this program. Women who are Graduate Women International members may be eligible for a small number of prizes for study abroad (other than in the applicant’s place of residence) (see the list of GWI affiliates). Graduate and postgraduate study at authorized institutions in the United States is funded.

AAUW International Fellowships USA Award includes
- First professional degree or master’s degree: $20,000
- Ph.D.: $25,000
- Postdoctoral: $50,000
Eligibility FOR AAUW International Fellowships USA
- Those who have previously received a national fellowship or grant from AAUW are not eligible for international fellowships (not including branch or local awards or Community Action Grants).
- Reapplicants who are rejected are welcome.
- Master’s/first professional degree and doctorate fellowships support conventional classroom-based study at colleges or universities through distance learning/online programs. The financing for online or distance learning programs, as well as degrees that heavily rely on remote learning, is not available through this fellowship program. AAUW will have the last say on what qualifies as distant learning for the purposes of these fellowships. Applications from candidates who are momentarily studying remotely because of COVID-19 safeguards at their institution will be accepted by AAUW.

Selection Criteria for AAUW International Fellowships USA
The group meets once a year to discuss grant requests. The criteria listed here are used to determine awards. The final approval of the panel’s recommendations rests with AAUW. According to the finances available in a particular fiscal year, fellowships are given out on a competitive basis.
AAUW refrains from discussing the decisions made by its award panels in order to maintain an impartial review process. Application reviews are not offered by AAUW. There are no provisions for proposals for fellowships to be taken back. Applications and supporting documentation are not returned or kept for a second year; they become the sole property of AAUW.
- Special consideration will be given to applicants who are living in their home country at the time of application, who are from developing or emerging nations, or who belong to an underrepresented group in any region.
- When returning to one’s country of origin.
- Educational background and/or professional experience.
- Demonstrated dedication to advancing women and girls in the country of origin.
- Quality and viability of the suggested study or research concept.
- Proof of earlier community and/or civic involvement in one’s own country.
- A driving force behind research or graduate school.
