The University of Western Australia (UWA) is a public research university in the Australian state of Western Australia. The university’s main campus is in Perth with a secondary campus in Albany. Located on the Swan River and just minutes from downtown Perth, the University of Western Australia (UWA) is often described as one of Australia’s most picturesque campuses. It is the sixth oldest university in Australia and was the only university in Western Australia until Murdoch University was established in 1973. Due to its age and reputation, UWA is classified as one of the “sandstone universities”, an informal designation for the oldest university in the state.

Benefits of Global Excellence Scholarship University of Western Australia

Undergraduate students can earn scholarships of up to AUD$48,000 over 4 years on eligible programs or AUD$36,000 over 3 years, and postgraduate students can get up to AUD$24,000 over two years on suitable courses if they wish to study in Australia in 2024.

While the majority of these degrees take longer than four years (based on eight semesters of full-time study), the bachelor of engineering with honors and bachelor of commerce, as well as the bachelor of engineering with honors and bachelor of science, take longer than five years (based on ten semesters of full-time study). As a result, eligible students will receive up to $60,000* over five years (yearly eligible amounts based on WAM).

General Eligibility for Global Excellence Scholarship University of Western Australia:

Students from all countries can apply for the Global Excellence Scholarship University of Western Australia.

To apply for the Global Excellence Scholarship, the candidates should:

have been offered an undergraduate or postgraduate course at The University of Western Australia.
have achieved the equivalent of:
- a minimum ATAR of 85.00; or
- minimum 65.00 WAM
Students must achieve a WAM equivalent of more than 75.00 if studying on an approved international academic pathway (articulation program)

Bachelor’s Eligibility

To be considered for the Global Excellence Scholarship, a candidate must be applying for an eligible undergraduate degree or Assured Pathway course. The following exceptions apply:

A guaranteed path to medicine
Guaranteed trip to the pharmacy
A guaranteed way to dentistry

Note:- The combined courses: Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and Bachelor of Commerce; and Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and Bachelor of Science; are over 5 years (based on 10 semesters of full-time study) and as such eligible students will receive up to $60,000* over 5 years (annual eligible amounts based on WAM).

Postgraduate Eligibility

To be eligible for the scholarship, a candidate must be applying for an eligible postgraduate degree (by course). The following exceptions apply:

Doctor of Medicine (91850)
Doctor of Dental Medicine (91860)
Doctor of Optometry (91590)
UWA Micro-credentials

Deadline

The deadline to apply for the Global Excellence Scholarship University of Western Australia varies. For most of the disciplines, the closing date is 13 February 2024.
