Swedish Institute(SI) Scholarships
The “Swedish Institute Scholarships” or “SI Scholarships” are prestigious awards intended to promote leadership and skill worldwide. With the help of these scholarships, exceptionally talented foreign students from a variety of backgrounds will have the chance to study at the master’s level in Sweden. In addition to receiving financial assistance, recipients gain access to Sweden’s excellent educational system, lively culture, and large professional and scholarly network.
Financial Benefits of the Swedish Institute Scholarships:
The SI Scholarships for GlobalProfessionals are fully funded scholarships for international students from 41 countries to study at the best universities in Sweden. Further details of expenses covered are given below:
- Full tuition fee payment: SI pays the cost directly to your Swedish university at the start of each semester.
- Monthly Stipend: An SEK 12,000 monthly stipend to help with living expenses while you’re studying.
- Insurance: Insurance against injury and disease.
- Travel Allowance: A travel grant of SEK 15,000 (*10,000 for researchers from Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia, and Azerbaijan). Students who already reside in Sweden are not eligible for this one-time stipend.
- Membership: Membership in the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP), a program designed to support your career development and network-building while you’re in Sweden.

Eligibility Criteria for SI Scholarships for Global Professionals:
Candidates must meet the following criteria to apply for the SI Scholarships:
- International students from the above countries are welcome to apply.
- You must have at least 3000 hours of experience.
- Candidates must have leadership experience from work or a company.
- Previous experience: It is required (conditions apply to some places) that you have documented work experience.

- Motivation: Your reason for applying for the scholarship must be stated in the application portal.

SI Scholarships Timeline:
The applications for the SI Scholarships for Global Professionals 2024-25 are closed now. Applications for the award are accepted once a year, for master’s programs starting in the fall semester. The applications for SI Scholarships for Global Professionals 2025-26 for International Students will open in Oct/Nov 2024.
Following is the timeline for SI Scholarships for Global Professionals:
- 16 October 2024– 15 January 2025: Apply to Swedish master’s programs through University Admissions.
- November: SI Scholarship application documents are published.
- 12 – 28 February 2025: The application portal for the SI Scholarship is open.
- 21 March 2025– University admissions announcement day.
- 25 April 2025: SI Scholarship announcement day.
Procedure to apply for SI Scholarship for Global Professionals
More than 700 of Sweden’s 1000 master’s programs taught in English are covered by the scholarship, which spans a broad spectrum of study areas. There is a step-by-step procedure for applying for Swedish Institution Scholarships. First, apply to a Swedish university and then you can apply for a Swedish institute scholarship. The link to the instructions and advertisement is below:
- First, applicants must apply to the master’s degree program at some Swedish University by January 15. You can find admission details at UniversityAdmissions.se.
- Once applicants have submitted their application, they will receive an application number. Remember this number as you must provide this number when applying for a scholarship.
- The scholarship application portal will open on February 10 and close on February 28.
