ANU Chancellor’s International Scholarship

Students from all over the world can apply for one of the many undergraduate and graduate scholarships offered by the ANU Chancellor’s International Scholarship. The goal of the scholarship is to entice a wide variety of exceptional overseas students to enroll at ANU.

At least one of the nine categories into which these awards are divided is open to students worldwide.

Tuckwell Scholarship

ANU awards 25 Scholarships each year and offers talented and motivated students the opportunity to realize their potential by providing financial support, personal enrichment, and development opportunities. Applicants must complete their ANU Direct Application Form before beginning their Tuckwell application. Candidates who have decided to apply for the Tuckwell Scholarship will receive a link to the Stage 1 application form after completing the Direct Application.

The Rhodes Scholarship Australia

Nine Rhodes Scholarships are available each year for outstanding Australians to study at the University of Oxford. Each state in Australia offers one of the nine scholarships available each year, which are awarded by a selection committee of seven members based in the state. A selection committee based in Canberra also awards three Australia-at-Large Scholarships. The financial benefits range from AUD 75,000 to AUD 125,000, and there are numerous other advantages, such as tuition fee waivers.

Each year, the ANU College of Law may make available a number of awards known as the ANU College of Law International Partners Scholarship to attract and support top-tier international postgraduate students to the ANU College of Law.

The scholarship will provide a tuition fee reduction of 100% to eligible students. The Award will be valid for one year. Unless otherwise stated in the offer letter, the Award is applied to tuition fees at the start of each semester.

ANU College of Science International Joint and Dual Award PhD Scholarship

The ANU College of Science (‘the College’) may offer several International Joint and Dual Award PhD Scholarships (‘the Award’) each year.

The Award may include any or all of the following advantages:

  • Stipend Scholarship: A stipend scholarship equal to the value of the Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP) stipend scholarship may be awarded to a recipient. Each year on January 1st, the Award is indexed, and/or
  • Higher Degree Research (HDR) Fee Remission Merit Scholarship: An International recipient may be recommended for an HDR Fee Remission Merit Scholarship to cover the International Student Fees for the standard duration of the Higher Degree Research (HDR) program if ranked competitive in a merit-based selection process.

Alexander McTaggart Honours Scholarship

The ANU College of Health and Medicine is the sponsor of this award. Medical Science (Honours) with the John Curtin School of Medical Research (JCSMR) in relation to cancer research. An Honors fourth-year student at the John Curtin School of Medical Research is working on a project pertaining to cancer research and related subjects. For the start of semester 1 the following year, applications are accepted from November 1 through November 30. For the start of semester 2, they are accepted from May 1 through June 15.

Yuill Travel Grant to Support the ICJ Fellowship Program

An award called the Yuill Travel Grant to Support the International Court of Justice (ICJ) Fellowship Programme (also known as “the Award”) may be given out annually by the ANU College of Law. Supporting the recipient’s participation in a ten-month fellowship program with the ICJ in The Hague, Netherlands, is the aim of the award. Through active participation in the Court’s operations and the opportunity to gain experience under a judge’s supervision, the Fellowship seeks to enhance participants’ comprehension of international law and the Court’s procedures. The grantee will be expected to help ICJ judges with their daily responsibilities, such as conducting research, creating case files, and writing papers and rulings.
